Questions

Before you ask

How much does a wedding at The Stone Barn cost?
Ceremony and reception packages are $4,700 for up to 50 guests, $5,700 for up to 100, and $6,200 for up to 150. Reception-only packages start at $3,200. Monday through Friday dates are $500 off every package, and a dry wedding — no alcohol served — is $300 off. The two stack, so a dry wedding Monday through Friday is $800 off.
How many guests can The Stone Barn hold?
Up to 150 guests, seated, with wooden farm tables and chairs included in every package.
What is included in a Stone Barn wedding package?
Venue access from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on your day, a two-hour rehearsal window the evening before, wooden farm tables and chairs, the upstairs studio suite for the day, an indoor bar, a case of Stone Barn Winery wine, outdoor garden lighting, and on-site parking.
Is there a getting-ready space for the wedding party?
Yes — a private studio suite upstairs in the barn is yours for the day, included in every ceremony and reception package.
Do you offer weekday wedding rates?
Yes. Monday through Friday dates are $500 off any package, and that stacks with the dry-wedding discount — a dry wedding on a weekday is $800 off.
Is there a discount for a dry wedding?
Yes — a dry wedding, meaning no alcohol is served, is $300 off any package, and it stacks with the $500 Monday-to-Friday discount: a dry weekday wedding is $800 off.
Do we get the property to ourselves?
Yes — exclusive use of the barn, the grounds and the surrounding ranch land for your day, plus the evening before for your rehearsal. Yours is the only wedding happening.
Can we bring our own caterer and vendors?
Yes. We are happy to share our trusted local partners — planners, caterers and the rest — but you are always welcome to bring your own team.
What happens if it rains?
The barn seats all 150 guests indoors, and the ceremony arch moves inside behind the head table — the picture book shows the room set up both ways. Couples have also rented tents to cover the patio.
Can our guests stay at the ranch?
No — the ranch does not host wedding guests overnight. Plymouth and the surrounding Shenandoah Valley wine country have lodging minutes from the barn.
Where does the ceremony happen?
Outdoors on the lower patio, with the foothills behind you and the ceremony arch provided by the ranch. The reception is in the stone barn, which opens onto the patio for cocktails.
Is wine included?
One case of Stone Barn Winery wine is included in every ceremony and reception package, and our own wines are available for your event — the vineyards are on the property.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
Yes — outside alcohol is allowed. There is an indoor bar in every package, and a case of Stone Barn Winery wine comes with the ceremony and reception packages. If you would rather not serve alcohol at all, a dry wedding is $300 off any package.
Is there a noise curfew?
Yes — music ends at 9:00 p.m. Venue access runs to 10:00 p.m., so there is an hour after the music stops for goodbyes and load-out.
Do you provide outdoor heaters?
No — the ranch does not provide heaters. Evenings in the Sierra foothills cool off quickly outside high summer, so plan on renting them for a shoulder-season date.
Is there power for a band or DJ?
Yes — there is power at the barn for a band or a DJ.
Where do guests park?
On site at the barn. Parking is included in every package, so there is no shuttle to arrange and no off-site lot to direct people to.
Where is The Stone Barn Winery?
6525 Old Sacramento Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669 — on a 150-acre family-owned ranch in the Shenandoah Valley wine region of Amador County, in the Sierra foothills.
How much is the deposit?
Half the total, due at signing to lock in your date — so $3,100 on the $6,200 ceremony and reception package for up to 150 guests. The balance is due 30 days before the event.
Do we need event insurance?
Yes. Your policy must carry $1,000,000 in liability cover and include host liquor liability, and it needs to be in place no later than 30 days before your event. Your home insurer can often add it, or WedSafe (wedsafe.com) writes single-event policies.
What happens if we have to cancel?
Once your contract is signed and the deposit is accepted, the deposit — half the total — is non-refundable if you cancel. If something changes, tell us as early as you can and we'll talk through where things stand.
When is the final payment due?
The balance — the half not covered by the deposit — is due 30 days before your event date.
How do we book a date?
Send an enquiry with your date and guest count. A person at the ranch reads every one and replies — dates are never held or charged automatically, so nothing is committed until you have spoken with us.
